WHAT MAKES A COURT REPORTING EDUCATION AT PRINCE INSTITUTE UNIQUE?
  • Prince Institute was established in 1976 by Sara Prince, a teacher and former court reporter for the United States Air Force.  The Prince family involvement continues even today.
  • First court reporter graduated in May of 1978.
  • In December of 1982, the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA) awarded the school its first Certificate of Approval.
  • In December of 1984, Prince Institute was awarded accreditation by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools. (ACICS)
  • In June of 2003 the Council named Prince Institute an "honor roll institution."
  • Licensed by the Alabama Department of Education
  • Approved by the Veterans Administration.
  • The individual attention provided by close family involvement contributes to a personalized education.
  • In the 2005/2006/2007 academic years, Prince Institute reported a placement rate of 100 percent in court reporting.

Currently, Prince Institute offers an Associate Degree in Realtime Reporting with a Concentration in Judicial Reporting.  We will add a concentration in broadcast captioning in the very near future.  In addition, we offer a certificate in scoping/proofreading to compliment our Court Reporting Program.

Classes are in session four 10-week quarters per year.  Students are enrolled in a program of study rather than individual courses; therefore, tuition is charged quarterly rather than by the courses or credit hour.
